Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked,“ Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?”

Now behold, one came and said to Him,“ Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?”

As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and asked Him,“ Good Teacher, what shall I do so that I may inherit eternal life?”But Jesus said to him,“ Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.You know the commandments:‘ Do not murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not give false testimony, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.’ ”And he said to Him,“ Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth.”Looking at him, Jesus showed love to him and said to him,“ One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”But he was deeply dismayed by these words, and he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.And Jesus, looking around,* said to His disciples,“ How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!”And the disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus responded again and* said to them,“ Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”And they were even more astonished, and said to Him,“ Then who can be saved?”Looking at them, Jesus* said,“ With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.”Peter began to say to Him,“ Behold, we have left everything and have followed You.”Jesus said,“ Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake,but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.

so that everyone who believes will have eternal life in Him.

These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

and the life was revealed, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was revealed to us—

keep yourselves in the love of God, looking forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.

The one who loves his life loses it, and the one who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life.

and I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.

so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Simon Peter answered Him,“ Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life.

so that, as sin reigned in death, so also grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that lasts for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal.”Therefore they said to Him,“ What are we to do, so that we may accomplish the works of God?”Jesus answered and said to them,“ This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.”

And looking at them, Jesus said to them,“ With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Truly, truly, I say to you, the one who believes has eternal life.

And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

And behold, a lawyer stood up and put Him to the test, saying,“ Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”And He said to him,“ What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?”And he answered,“ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”And He said to him,“ You have answered correctly; do this and you will live.”

Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and for which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost sinner Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.

and after he brought them out, he said,“ Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms on account of My name, will receive many times as much, and will inherit eternal life.

And many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt.

A ruler questioned Him, saying,“ Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”But Jesus said to him,“ Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.You know the commandments,‘ Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not give false testimony, Honor your father and mother.’ ”And he said,“ All these things I have kept since my youth.”Now when Jesus heard this, He said to him,“ One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”But when he had heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely wealthy.And Jesus looked at him and said,“ How hard it is for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God!”Those who heard Him said,“ And so who can be saved?”But He said,“ The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.”Peter said,“ Behold, we have left our own homes and followed You.”And He said to them,“ Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children for the sake of the kingdom of God,who will not receive many times as much at this time, and in the age to come, eternal life.”

but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never be thirsty; but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up to eternal life.”

You examine the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is those very Scriptures that testify about Me;

just as You gave Him authority over all mankind, so that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life.And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago,

to those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life;

And He said to him,“ Why are you asking Me about what is good?
