For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others— and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

我願你們一無掛慮。沒有結婚的、掛慮主的事、要怎樣給主喜歡；結婚的掛慮世界的事、要怎樣給妻子喜歡，心就分了。沒有結婚的婦人和處女、掛慮主的事、要在身體和心靈上奉獻為聖；已經結婚的、掛慮世界的事、要怎樣給丈夫喜歡。我說這話、是為了你們自己的益處，不是要設圈套籠絡你們，乃是要你們溫雅端正、殷勤服事主、而不分心。若有人以為待自己的處女朋友不合宜；他若性慾旺盛、又該這樣成事，便可以如願而行，並不是犯罪；他們可以結婚。但若有人心裏已經立定，既沒有不得已的事，對自己的意思又有主權，自己心裏也已決定要保守自己的處女朋友：這樣行也好。所以同自己的處女朋友結婚的固然好，不同她結婚的更好。

難道我們沒有權利帶着信主的姊妹為妻、出入往來、像其餘的使徒與主的弟兄和磯法一樣麼？

皈依永恆主的外族人不要說：『永恆主必定將我從他人民中分別出來』；被閹割的人也不要說：『唉，我是棵枯乾了的樹了。』因為永恆主這麼說：『那些謹守我的安息日、選擇我所喜悅的事，持守我的約的閹割人，

並且從你本身出的、就是你所生的、子孫中、也必有人被擄去，在巴比倫王宮裏當太監。』

至於我呢、這些個、我全沒享用過。我寫了這些話，並不是要人這樣待我。我寧可死，也不願意人使我的誇耀落了空。
