For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others— and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

我愿你们无所挂虑。没有娶妻子的人，挂念的是主的事，想怎样去得主喜悦；但娶了妻子的人是为世上的事挂虑，想怎样去讨妻子的欢心，这样他就分心了。没有结婚的妇女和守独身的女子，挂念的是主的事，好让身体和心灵都成为圣洁；但结了婚的妇女是为世上的事挂虑，想怎样去讨丈夫的欢心。我说这话，是为了你们自己的益处；我不是要限制你们，而是要你们作合宜的事，一心一意地对主忠诚。如果有人认为是亏待了自己的女朋友，她也过了结婚的年龄，而他觉得应当结婚，他就可以照着自己的意思去作，这不是犯罪；他们应该结婚。但如果他心里坚决，没有什么不得已的原因，又可以控制自己的意志，决心让女朋友持守独身；这样作也是好的。所以，那跟自己的女朋友结婚的，作得好，那不结婚的，作得更好。（或译：“36如果有人认为待自己的女儿不合适，她也过了结婚的年龄，而且应当这样行，他就可以照着自己的意思去作，让她们结婚，这不是犯罪。37但如果他心里坚定，没有什么不得已的原因，又有权作主，决心留下自己的女儿，这样作也是好的。38所以，那让自己女儿出嫁的，作得好，那不让女儿出嫁的，作得更好。”）

难道我们没有权利，像其余的使徒、主的弟兄和矶法一样，带着信主的妻子往来吗？

与耶和华联合的外族人不要说：“耶和华必把我从他的子民中分别出来。”被阉割了的人也不要说：“看哪！我是一棵枯树。”因为耶和华这样说：“那些谨守我的安息日，拣选我所喜悦的事，持守我的约、被阉割了的人，

从你所出的众子，就是你所生的，其中必有被掳去的，在巴比伦王宫里作太监。”

但这种权利，我一点也没有用过。我写这些话，并不是想叫人这样待我，因为我宁可死，也不让人使我所夸耀的落了空。
