復至約旦河外、在如望初授洗處而居焉；

復起行、入猶太境、至約但河外、民眾復集、耶穌施訓如恆。法利塞人趨前而問曰：『人可出其妻乎？』蓋試之也。耶穌曰：『摩西云何？』曰：『摩西准以休書出之。』耶穌曰：『摩西以爾心如鐵石、故為爾書此誡命、非得已也。然自創世之始、天主肇造男女、「是故男子當離其父母、好合其妻、二人成為一體。」是則不復為二、乃為一體矣。夫天主之所合、人孰得而離之？』耶穌回寓、門徒復以此為問。耶穌曰：『出妻而他娶、是背妻而姦也。妻若離夫而別嫁、亦姦也。』

論畢、離加利利、入猶太境、至約旦河彼岸、群眾從之；其有病者、耶穌悉為治之有法利賽人來試之曰：『人可任憑何故而出其妻乎？』耶穌對曰：『爾未讀經耶？經言「造化主之創人也、肇造一男一女」且謂「因此人將離其父母、好合其妻、二人成為一體。」是已不復為二、乃為一體。夫天主所合、人焉得而離之。法利賽人曰：『然則摩西何為命與休書而出之乎？』對曰：『摩西以汝心如鐵石、姑容出妻、非自始已然。吾語爾、凡非因不貞之故、出其妻而別娶者、姦也；娶已出之妻者、亦姦也。』

耶穌講道既畢、眾皆驚服；蓋其所訓、若自具權能者、非尋常經師所得同日而語也。
