如能獲之、我實語爾、彼為此羊而喜、有逾於其未失之九十九者焉？

And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety- nine that did not wander off.

What I’m about to tell you is true. If he finds that sheep, he is happier about the one than about the 99 that didn’t wander off.

For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”

Then Jesus explained:“ My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work.You know the saying,‘ Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest.The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike!

There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when he judges you.

Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever, because you delight in showing unfailing love.

Your children will commit themselves to you, O Jerusalem, just as a young man commits himself to his bride. Then God will rejoice over you as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride.

And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders.When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying,‘ Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!“ Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Won’t she light a lamp and sweep the entire house and search carefully until she finds it?And when she finds it, she will call in her friends and neighbors and say,‘ Rejoice with me because I have found my lost coin.’In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even one sinner repents.”

I will certainly bring my people back again from all the countries where I will scatter them in my fury. I will bring them back to this very city and let them live in peace and safety.They will be my people, and I will be their God.And I will give them one heart and one purpose: to worship me forever, for their own good and for the good of all their descendants.And I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good for them. I will put a desire in their hearts to worship me, and they will never leave me.I will find joy doing good for them and will faithfully and wholeheartedly replant them in this land.

And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast,for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.’ So the party began.

When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins.

No, the Lord’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.
