如能獲之、我實語爾、彼為此羊而喜、有逾於其未失之九十九者焉？

And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety- nine that did not wander off.

What I’m about to tell you is true. If he finds that sheep, he is happier about the one than about the 99 that didn’t wander off.

And if he finds it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray.

The LORD your God is in your midst; he is a warrior who can deliver. He takes great delight in you; he renews you by his love; he shouts for joy over you.”

Jesus said to them,“ My food is to do the will of the one who sent me and to complete his work.Don’t you say,‘ There are four more months and then comes the harvest?’ I tell you, look up and see that the fields are already white for harvest!The one who reaps receives pay and gathers fruit for eternal life, so that the one who sows and the one who reaps can rejoice together.

For judgment is merciless for the one who has shown no mercy. But mercy triumphs over judgment.

There is no other God like you! You forgive sin and pardon the rebellion of those who remain among your people. You do not remain angry forever, but delight in showing loyal love.

As a young man marries a young woman, so your sons will marry you. As a bridegroom rejoices over a bride, so your God will rejoice over you.

Then when he has found it, he places it on his shoulders, rejoicing.Returning home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, telling them,‘ Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost.’I tell you, in the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety- nine righteous people who have no need to repent.“ Or what woman, if she has ten silver coins and loses one of them, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search thoroughly until she finds it?Then when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying,‘ Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost.’In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who repents.”

‘ I will certainly regather my people from all the countries where I will have exiled them in my anger, fury, and great wrath. I will bring them back to this place and allow them to live here in safety.They will be my people, and I will be their God.I will give them a single-minded purpose to live in a way that always shows respect for me. They will want to do that for their own good and the good of the children who descend from them.I will make a lasting covenant with them that I will never stop doing good to them. I will fill their hearts and minds with respect for me so that they will never again turn away from me.I will take delight in doing good to them. I will faithfully and wholeheartedly plant them firmly in the land.’

Bring the fattened calf and kill it! Let us eat and celebrate,because this son of mine was dead, and is alive again– he was lost and is found!’ So they began to celebrate.

Having suffered, he will reflect on his work, he will be satisfied when he understands what he has done.“ My servant will acquit many, for he carried their sins.

The LORD takes delight in his faithful followers, and in those who wait for his loyal love.
