爾中孰有百羊而亡其一、不姑舍九十九羊於野、往覓其亡者、以至於獲乎、獲之則喜、負於肩、歸而集其友鄰、謂之曰、與我同樂、我之亡羊已獲矣、我語汝、罪人有一改悔者、則在天為之樂亦然、較為九十九義人、無須改悔者尤甚也、

譬彼牧者、羊散之時、則尋覓之、我必如是尋覓我羊、救之出於密雲幽暗之日、所散之地、

不復為異邦所虜、野獸所噬、必得安居、無人使之恐怖、

我羊迷於諸山峻嶺、散於全地、無人尋覓、

我民曾為亡羊、其牧使入迷途、轉徙於山、自此山至彼岡、忘其棲止之所、

迷亡者我必尋之、被驅者我必反之、傷者裹之、病者扶之、肥者強者、我必滅之、以公義牧之、

或有二子、謂其長子曰、我子今日往葡萄園工作、
