“如果你们有人有一百只羊，走失了一只，难道他不暂时把那九十九只留在草场上，去找那只迷失的羊，一直到找着为止吗？他找到后，会欢欢喜喜地把那只羊扛回家，并邀来朋友邻居，说，‘我走失的羊找到了，来和我一同庆祝吧！’我告诉你们，同样，一个罪人悔改，在天上也要这样为他欢喜，甚至比有九十九个不用悔改的义人还欢喜。

牧人怎样寻找他四散的羊，我也照样寻找我的羊，他们在密云幽暗的日子失散到各地，我要把他们从那里救回来。

他们必不再成为列国的猎物，也不会被地上的野兽吞吃。他们必安居乐业，不再受人惊吓。

我的羊在群山和高岗上游荡，分散在各地，没有人寻找他们。

我的子民成了一群迷路的羊，他们的牧人使他们步入歧途，在高山丘陵间流浪，忘了自己的安歇之处。

我要寻找迷失的，领回分散的，包扎受伤的，医治患病的，但我要消灭肥壮的。我要凭公义牧养他们。”

耶稣又说：“你们怎样看这件事？某人有两个儿子。他对大儿子说，‘孩子，你今天到葡萄园工作吧！’

“我是好牧人，好牧人为羊舍命。如果是雇工，不是牧人，羊也不是他的，狼一来，他必撇下羊逃命。狼就会抓住羊，把羊群驱散。他逃走，因为他是雇工，并不在乎羊。我是好牧人，我认识我的羊，我的羊也认识我，正如父认识我，我也认识父，并且我为羊舍命。我还有别的羊不在这羊圈里，我必须领他们回来，他们也必听我的声音。这样，我所有的羊将要合成一群，由一个牧人来带领。父爱我，因为我舍弃自己的生命，为了再得回生命。没有人能夺走我的生命，我是甘心舍弃的。我有权舍弃，也有权得回，这是我从父那里得到的命令。”犹太人因这番话又起了纷争。他们当中好些人说：“祂被鬼附身了！祂疯了！何必听祂的？”又有些人说：“被鬼附身的人不会说这种话的，鬼能医好瞎眼的人吗？”

耶稣回答说：“如果你们有一只羊在安息日掉进坑里，难道你们不把它拉上来吗？

从前你们好像是迷路的羊，现在却归向了你们灵魂的牧人和监护者。

我们都像迷路的羊，各人偏行己路，但上帝却让祂承担我们众人的罪恶。

你们都是明白事理的人，可以判断我说的对不对。

我像只迷途的羊，求你来寻找仆人，因为我没有忘记你的命令。

“你们对基督有何看法？祂是谁的后裔？”他们答道：“大卫的后裔。”
