“ See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.

For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.

For the angel of the Lord is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him.

Therefore, angels are only servants— spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation.

“ Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him.“ For there are more on our side than on theirs!”Then Elisha prayed,“ O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.

Suddenly, there was a bright light in the cell, and an angel of the Lord stood before Peter. The angel struck him on the side to awaken him and said,“ Quick! Get up!” And the chains fell off his wrists.Then the angel told him,“ Get dressed and put on your sandals.” And he did.“ Now put on your coat and follow me,” the angel ordered.So Peter left the cell, following the angel. But all the time he thought it was a vision. He didn’t realize it was actually happening.They passed the first and second guard posts and came to the iron gate leading to the city, and this opened for them all by itself. So they passed through and started walking down the street, and then the angel suddenly left him.Peter finally came to his senses.“ It’s really true!” he said.“ The Lord has sent his angel and saved me from Herod and from what the Jewish leaders had planned to do to me!”

As Jacob started on his way again, angels of God came to meet him.When Jacob saw them, he exclaimed,“ This is God’s camp!” So he named the place Mahanaim.

One afternoon about three o’clock, he had a vision in which he saw an angel of God coming toward him.“ Cornelius!” the angel said.

Then Micaiah continued,“ Listen to what the Lord says! I saw the Lord sitting on his throne with all the armies of heaven around him, on his right and on his left.

Because I am righteous, I will see you. When I awake, I will see you face to face and be satisfied.

Those who despise flagrant sinners, and honor the faithful followers of the Lord, and keep their promises even when it hurts.

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.”( The seven lamps represent the eyes of the Lord that search all around the world.)

But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea.

When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some.

Therefore, anyone who refuses to live by these rules is not disobeying human teaching but is rejecting God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.

And he will send out his angels with the mighty blast of a trumpet, and they will gather his chosen ones from all over the world— from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven.

Then the angel said,“ I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news!

The names of these men were Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan— seven nobles of Persia and Media. They met with the king regularly and held the highest positions in the empire.

He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle. Finally he will cause justice to be victorious.

But an angel of the Lord came at night, opened the gates of the jail, and brought them out. Then he told them,

“ Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, the man who is my partner,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.“ Strike down the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn against the lambs.

Absalom lived in Jerusalem for two years, but he never got to see the king.

Instantly, an angel of the Lord struck Herod with a sickness, because he accepted the people’s worship instead of giving the glory to God. So he was consumed with worms and died.

In the same way, it is not my heavenly Father’s will that even one of these little ones should perish.

So why do you condemn another believer? Why do you look down on another believer? Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.

After the wise men were gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream.“ Get up! Flee to Egypt with the child and his mother,” the angel said.“ Stay there until I tell you to return, because Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”

When Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt.

“ You’re out of your mind!” they said. When she insisted, they decided,“ It must be his angel.”

Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong.For instance, one person believes it’s all right to eat anything. But another believer with a sensitive conscience will eat only vegetables.Those who feel free to eat anything must not look down on those who don’t. And those who don’t eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them.

As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream.“ Joseph, son of David,” the angel said,“ do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit.

“ Finally, the poor man died and was carried by the angels to sit beside Abraham at the heavenly banquet. The rich man also died and was buried,

What? Don’t you have your own homes for eating and drinking? Or do you really want to disgrace God’s church and shame the poor? What am I supposed to say? Do you want me to praise you? Well, I certainly will not praise you for this!

It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything else if it might cause another believer to stumble.

Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

Now I, Paul, appeal to you with the gentleness and kindness of Christ— though I realize you think I am timid in person and bold only when I write from far away.

Don’t let anyone treat him with contempt. Send him on his way with your blessing when he returns to me. I expect him to come with the other believers.

We who are strong must be considerate of those who are sensitive about things like this. We must not just please ourselves.

It’s true that we can’t win God’s approval by what we eat. We don’t lose anything if we don’t eat it, and we don’t gain anything if we do.But you must be careful so that your freedom does not cause others with a weaker conscience to stumble.For if others see you— with your“ superior knowledge”— eating in the temple of an idol, won’t they be encouraged to violate their conscience by eating food that has been offered to an idol?So because of your superior knowledge, a weak believer for whom Christ died will be destroyed.And when you sin against other believers by encouraging them to do something they believe is wrong, you are sinning against Christ.So if what I eat causes another believer to sin, I will never eat meat again as long as I live— for I don’t want to cause another believer to stumble.

So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.I know and am convinced on the authority of the Lord Jesus that no food, in and of itself, is wrong to eat. But if someone believes it is wrong, then for that person it is wrong.And if another believer is distressed by what you eat, you are not acting in love if you eat it. Don’t let your eating ruin someone for whom Christ died.

For some say,“ Paul’s letters are demanding and forceful, but in person he is weak, and his speeches are worthless!”

Then he said to the disciples,“ Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me. And anyone who rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who rejects me is rejecting God, who sent me.”

For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me,

Surely you remember that I was sick when I first brought you the Good News.But even though my condition tempted you to reject me, you did not despise me or turn me away. No, you took me in and cared for me as though I were an angel from God or even Christ Jesus himself.

Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.

I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and they were given seven trumpets.
