Therefore we must pay closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.For if the message spoken through angels proved to be so firm that every violation or disobedience received its just penalty,how will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was first communicated through the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard him,

( Look! He is returning with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all the tribes on the earth will mourn because of him. This will certainly come to pass! Amen.)

This is the Moses who said to the Israelites,‘ God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers.’

and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven,“ You are my one dear Son; in you I take great delight.”

The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you– from your fellow Israelites; you must listen to him.

“ Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I take great delight. I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations.

I will personally hold responsible anyone who then pays no attention to the words that prophet speaks in my name.

The LORD wanted to exhibit his justice by magnifying his law and displaying it.

The LORD said these things to your entire assembly at the mountain from the middle of the fire, the cloud, and the darkness with a loud voice, and that was all he said. Then he inscribed the words on two stone tablets and gave them to me.

You approached and stood at the foot of the mountain, a mountain ablaze to the sky above it and yet dark with a thick cloud.Then the LORD spoke to you from the middle of the fire; you heard speech but you could not see anything– only a voice was heard.

After God spoke long ago in various portions and in various ways to our ancestors through the prophets,in these last days he has spoken to us in a son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he created the world.

Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud settled on it and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

“ Just as the Father has loved me, I have also loved you; remain in my love.If you obey my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.

After he had said this, while they were watching, he was lifted up and a cloud hid him from their sight.

For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he does, and will show him greater deeds than these, so that you will be amazed.For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whomever he wishes.Furthermore, the Father does not judge anyone, but has assigned all judgment to the Son,so that all people will honor the Son just as they honor the Father. The one who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

And the Father who sent me has himself testified about me. You people have never heard his voice nor seen his form at any time,
