Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?

And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them,Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,

Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.

Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:

Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know[ it].For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.

Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.

He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

[ Saying], Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.

For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the[ same] night in which he was betrayed took bread:
