Then Jesus rebuked the demon in the boy, and it left him. From that moment the boy was well.

When Jesus saw that the crowd of onlookers was growing, he rebuked the evil spirit.“ Listen, you spirit that makes this boy unable to hear and speak,” he said.“ I command you to come out of this child and never enter him again!”Then the spirit screamed and threw the boy into another violent convulsion and left him. The boy appeared to be dead. A murmur ran through the crowd as people said,“ He’s dead.”But Jesus took him by the hand and helped him to his feet, and he stood up.

A group of Jews was traveling from town to town casting out evil spirits. They tried to use the name of the Lord Jesus in their incantation, saying,“ I command you in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, to come out!”Seven sons of Sceva, a leading priest, were doing this.But one time when they tried it, the evil spirit replied,“ I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?”

Many were possessed by demons; and the demons came out at his command, shouting,“ You are the Son of God!” But because they knew he was the Messiah, he rebuked them and refused to let them speak.

For Jesus had already said to the spirit,“ Come out of the man, you evil spirit.”

For Jesus had already commanded the evil spirit to come out of him. This spirit had often taken control of the man. Even when he was placed under guard and put in chains and shackles, he simply broke them and rushed out into the wilderness, completely under the demon’s power.

So Jesus healed many people who were sick with various diseases, and he cast out many demons. But because the demons knew who he was, he did not allow them to speak.

He asked them when the boy had begun to get better, and they replied,“ Yesterday afternoon at one o’clock his fever suddenly disappeared!”Then the father realized that that was the very time Jesus had told him,“ Your son will live.” And he and his entire household believed in Jesus.

This went on day after day until Paul got so exasperated that he turned and said to the demon within her,“ I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And instantly it left her.

“ Dear woman,” Jesus said to her,“ your faith is great. Your request is granted.” And her daughter was instantly healed.

Then a demon possessed man, who was blind and couldn’t speak, was brought to Jesus. He healed the man so that he could both speak and see.

But Jesus reprimanded him.“ Be quiet! Come out of the man,” he ordered. At that, the demon threw the man to the floor as the crowd watched; then it came out of him without hurting him further.Amazed, the people exclaimed,“ What authority and power this man’s words possess! Even evil spirits obey him, and they flee at his command!”

As the boy came forward, the demon knocked him to the ground and threw him into a violent convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the evil spirit and healed the boy. Then he gave him back to his father.
