But also some of the Jewish exorcists, who went from place to place, attempted to use the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had the evil spirits, saying,“ I order you in the name of Jesus whom Paul preaches!”Now there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, doing this.But the evil spirit responded and said to them,“ I recognize Jesus, and I know of Paul, but who are you?”

Demons also were coming out of many, shouting,“ You are the Son of God!” And yet He was rebuking them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew that He was the Christ.

For He had already been saying to him,“ Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!”

For He had already commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For it had seized him many times; and he was bound with chains and shackles and kept under guard, and yet he would break the restraints and be driven by the demon into the desert.

And He healed many who were ill with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew who He was.

So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. Then they said to him,“ Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.”So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him,“ Your son is alive”; and he himself believed, and his entire household.

Now she continued doing this for many days. But Paul was greatly annoyed, and he turned and said to the spirit,“ I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” And it came out at that very moment.

Then Jesus said to her,“ O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed at once.

Then a demon possessed man who was blind and unable to speak was brought to Jesus, and He healed him so that the man who was unable to speak talked and could see.

But Jesus rebuked him, saying,“ Be quiet and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him down in the midst of the people, it came out of him without doing him any harm.And amazement came upon them all, and they began talking with one another, saying,“ What is this message? For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”

Now while he was still approaching, the demon slammed him to the ground and threw him into a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy and gave him back to his father.
