Now some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists also attempted to pronounce the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying,“ I command you by the Jesus that Paul preaches!”Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish high priest, were doing this.The evil spirit answered them,“ I know Jesus, and I recognize Paul— but who are you?”

Also, demons were coming out of many, shouting and saying,“ You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Messiah.

For he had told him,“ Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!”

For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was guarded, bound by chains and shackles, he would snap the restraints and be driven by the demon into deserted places.

and he healed many who were sick with various diseases and drove out many demons. And he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him.

He asked them at what time he got better.“ Yesterday at one in the afternoon the fever left him,” they answered.The father realized this was the very hour at which Jesus had told him,“ Your son will live.” So he himself believed, along with his whole household.

She did this for many days. Paul was greatly annoyed. Turning to the spirit, he said,“ I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” And it came out right away.

Then Jesus replied to her,“ Woman, your faith is great. Let it be done for you as you want.” And from that moment her daughter was healed.

Then a demon-possessed man who was blind and unable to speak was brought to him. He healed him, so that the man could both speak and see.

But Jesus rebuked him and said,“ Be silent and come out of him!” And throwing him down before them, the demon came out of him without hurting him at all.Amazement came over them all, and they were saying to one another,“ What is this message? For he commands the unclean spirits with authority and power, and they come out!”

As the boy was still approaching, the demon knocked him down and threw him into severe convulsions. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.
