And they brought the boy to Him. When he saw Him, the spirit immediately threw him into convulsions, and falling to the ground, he began rolling around and foaming at the mouth.And He asked his father,“ How long has this been happening to him?” And he said,“ From childhood.It has often thrown him both into the fire and into the water to kill him. But if You can do anything, take pity on us and help us!”

And one person from the crowd answered Him,“ Teacher, I brought You my son, because he has a spirit that makes him unable to speak;and whenever it seizes him, it slams him to the ground, and he foams at the mouth and grinds his teeth and becomes stiff. And I told Your disciples so that they would cast it out, but they could not do it.”

And the demons begged Him, saying,“ If You are going to cast us out, send us into the herd of pigs.”And He said to them,“ Go!” And they came out and went into the pigs; and behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the waters.

because he had often been bound with shackles and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him and the shackles broken in pieces; and no one was strong enough to subdue him.Constantly, night and day, he was screaming among the tombs and in the mountains, and cutting himself with stones.

Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and struck Job with severe boils from the sole of his foot to the top of his head.

And one of the synagogue officials, named Jairus,* came, and upon seeing Him,* fell at His feetand* pleaded with Him earnestly, saying,“ My little daughter is at the point of death; please come and lay Your hands on her, so that she will get well and live.”

You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.But reach out with Your hand now and touch all that he has; he will certainly curse You to Your face.”Then the Lord said to Satan,“ Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not reach out and put your hand on him.” So Satan departed from the presence of the Lord.Now on the day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house,a messenger came to Job and said,“ The oxen were plowing and the female donkeys feeding beside them,and the Sabeans attacked and took them. They also killed the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”While he was still speaking, another came and said,“ The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”While he was still speaking, another came and said,“ The Chaldeans formed three units and made a raid on the camels and took them, and killed the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”While he was still speaking, another also came and said,“ Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house,and behold, a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people and they died, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

And a man from the crowd shouted, saying,“ Teacher, I beg You to look at my son, because he is my only son,and a spirit seizes him and he suddenly screams, and it throws him into a convulsion with foaming at the mouth; and only with difficulty does it leave him, mauling him as it leaves.And I begged Your disciples to cast it out, and they could not.”And Jesus answered and said,“ You unbelieving and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and put up with you? Bring your son here.”Now while he was still approaching, the demon slammed him to the ground and threw him into a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy and gave him back to his father.
