说：“主啊，可怜我的儿子吧！他患了癫痫病，十分痛苦，经常跌进火里，也经常跌进水里。

他的消息就在全叙利亚省传开了。人们把所有的病人，就是患各种疾病的、受疼痛折磨的、有鬼魔附身的、癫痫的、瘫痪的，都带到耶稣那里。耶稣就使他们痊愈。

这时候，忽然来了一个住在那地区的迦南妇人，她呼叫说：“主啊，大卫的后裔，可怜我吧！我的女儿有鬼魔附身，痛苦万分。”

他们就把他带到耶稣面前来。邪灵一见耶稣，立刻使孩子剧烈地抽疯，倒在地上打滚，口吐白沫。耶稣问孩子的父亲：“这事发生在他身上有多久了？”他回答说：“从小就这样。邪灵经常把他扔进火里或水里，要害死他。但你如果能做什么，就求你怜悯我们，帮助我们！”

人群中有一个人回答：“老师，我带了我的儿子到你这里。他有一个哑巴的邪灵附身。无论在哪里，只要邪灵抓住他，把他摔倒在地，他就口吐白沫，紧咬牙关，全身僵硬。我告诉你的门徒们，要他们驱赶那邪灵，可是他们不能。”

那些鬼魔就央求耶稣，说：“如果你要把我们赶出去，就叫我们进入这群猪里面去吧。”耶稣对它们说：“去吧！”它们就出来，进入猪里面去了。忽然，那整群猪从山崖冲到湖里，在水里淹死了。

他经常被脚镣和铁链捆起来，然而他总是挣断铁链、打碎脚镣。没有人能制伏他。不管黑夜白昼，他常常在墓地和山上喊叫，又用石头砍自己。

耶稣又来到加利利的迦拿，就是他把水变成酒的地方。有一个大臣，他的儿子在迦百农患了病。这个人听说耶稣从犹太来到加利利，就到耶稣那里去，请求他下去治愈他的儿子，因为他的儿子快要死了。

这时候，来了一个名叫睚鲁的会堂主管。他一见到耶稣，就俯伏在耶稣脚前，迫切地恳求他，说：“我的小女儿快要死了。求你来按手在她身上，好让她得救治，能活下去。”

这时候，忽然人群中有一个人呼喊说：“老师，求求你看顾我的儿子吧！因为他是我的独生儿子。你看，邪灵抓住他，忽然喊叫起来，又使他抽疯，口吐白沫；邪灵折磨着他，就是不离开。我求过你的门徒们，要他们驱赶那邪灵，可是他们不能。”耶稣回答说：“唉，这个不信、歪曲的世代！我还要和你们在一起多久呢？我还要容忍你们多久呢？把你的儿子带到这里来吧！”那孩子上前来的时候，鬼魔把他摔倒，使他剧烈地抽疯。耶稣就斥责那污灵，使孩子痊愈，把孩子交给他父亲。
