The disciples talked about this among themselves. They said,“ He must be saying this because we didn’t bring any bread.”

They discussed this among themselves and said,“ It is because we didn’t bring any bread.”

And they began discussing it among themselves, saying,“ We brought no bread.”

At this they began to argue with each other because they hadn’t brought any bread.

They were discussing among themselves,“ We didn’t bring any bread.”

They began to discuss this among themselves, saying,“ He said that because we did not bring any bread.”

And they reasoned among themselves, saying,“ It is because we have taken no bread.”

And they reasoned among themselves, saying, We took no bread.

So they began to discuss this among themselves, saying,“ It is because we brought no bread.”

So they kept the matter to themselves. But they asked each other what“ rising from the dead” meant.

“ No, Lord! I will not!” Peter replied.“ I have never eaten anything that is not pure and‘ clean.’ ”

“ Don’t you understand yet?” Jesus asked them.“ Don’t you see? Everything that enters the mouth goes into the stomach. Then it goes out of the body.But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart. Those are the things that make someone‘ unclean.’

The disciples began to argue about which one of them would be the most important person.

They talked about this with each other. They said,“ He must be saying this because we don’t have any bread.”Jesus knew what they were saying. So he asked them,“ Why are you talking about having no bread? Why can’t you see or understand? Are you stubborn?Do you have eyes and still don’t see? Do you have ears and still don’t hear? And don’t you remember?
