Then Jesus told them,“ Watch out and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

“ Watch out,” Jesus said to them,“ beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

Under these circumstances, after so many thousands of people had gathered together that they were stepping on one another, He began saying to His disciples first of all,“ Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Then they understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

And He was giving orders to them, saying,“ Watch out! Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and the leaven of Herod.”

A little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough.

‘ No grain offering, which you bring to the Lord, shall be made with leaven, for you shall not offer up in smoke any leaven or any honey as an offering by fire to the Lord.

Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough?Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed.Therefore let’s celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

But avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness,and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus,

For seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, but on the first day you shall remove dough with yeast from your houses; for whoever eats anything with yeast from the first day until the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Israel.And on the first day you shall have a holy assembly, and another holy assembly on the seventh day; no work at all shall be done on them, except for what must be eaten by every person— that alone may be prepared by you.You shall also keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread, for on this very day I brought your multitudes out of the land of Egypt; therefore you shall keep this day throughout your generations as a permanent ordinance.In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread, until the twenty first day of the month at evening.For seven days there shall be no dough with yeast found in your houses; for whoever eats anything with yeast, that person shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he is a stranger or a native of the land.

But He said to them,“ Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one is affluent does his life consist of his possessions.”
