眾人聚集的時候，耶穌就說：“這世代是個邪惡的世代。這世代尋求神蹟，可是除了約拿的神蹟以外，再沒有神蹟給他們了。約拿怎樣成了尼尼微人的神蹟，人子也照樣成為這個世代的神蹟。

但耶穌說：“邪惡和淫亂的世代尋求神蹟，除了約拿先知的神蹟以外，再沒有神蹟給你們了。約拿怎樣三日三夜在大魚的腹中，人子也要照樣三日三夜在地裡。

耶和華卻安排了一條大魚，把約拿吞下。約拿就在魚腹中三日三夜。（本節在《馬索拉文本》為2:1）

在淫亂罪惡的世代，凡把我和我的道當作可恥的，人子在他父的榮耀裡，和聖天使一起降臨的時候，也必把他當作可恥的。”

他們就要求耶穌離開他們的地區。耶穌上船的時候，那被鬼附過的人來求他，要和他在一起。

即使他們把兒女養大，我也必使他們喪子，一個不留。我離棄他們的時候，他們就有禍了。”

耶穌靈裡深深地歎息，說：“這世代為甚麼總是尋求神蹟？我實在告訴你們，決不會有神蹟顯給這個世代的！”

由得他們吧！他們是瞎眼的，卻作了嚮導；如果瞎子領瞎子，二人都會跌進坑裡。”

以法蓮和偶像連在一起，任憑他吧！

但是他們抗拒、褻瀆，保羅就抖著衣服，對他們說：“你們的罪你們自己承擔，這與我無關。從今以後，我要到外族人那裡去了。”

耶和華說：“人既然是屬肉體的，我的靈就不永遠住在他裡面，但他的日子還有一百二十年。”

彼得還用許多別的話，鄭重作證，並且勸勉他們，說：“你們應當救自己脫離這彎曲的世代！”
