弟兄勝過那條龍是因羔羊的血，和因自己所見證的道。雖然至於死，他們也不惜自己的性命。

因為凡要救自己生命的，必喪失生命；凡為我和福音喪失生命的，必救自己的生命。

愛惜自己性命的，就喪失性命；那恨惡自己在這世上的性命的，要保全性命到永生。

但知道聖靈在各城裏向我指證，說有捆鎖與患難等着我。我卻不以性命為念，只要走完我的路程，完成我從主耶穌所領受的職分，為上帝恩典的福音作見證。

凡想保全性命的，要喪失性命；凡喪失性命的，要保存性命。

此時你若閉口不言，猶太人必從別處得解脫，蒙拯救；你和你父家必致滅亡。焉知你得了王后的位分不是為現今的機會嗎？」

「你當去召集書珊所有的猶太人，為我禁食三晝三夜，不吃不喝；我和我的宮女也要這樣禁食。然後我違例去晉見王，我若死就死吧！」
