弟兄勝過牠，是因羔羊的血和自己所見證的道。他們雖至於死，也不愛惜性命。

因為，凡要救自己生命的，必喪掉生命；凡為我和福音喪掉生命的，必救了生命。

愛惜自己生命的，就失喪生命；在這世上恨惡自己生命的，就要保守生命到永生。

但知道聖靈在各城裏向我指證，說有捆鎖與患難等待我。我卻不以性命為念，也不看為寶貴，只要行完我的路程，成就我從主耶穌所領受的職事，證明神恩惠的福音。

凡想要保全生命的，必喪掉生命；凡喪掉生命的，必救活生命。

此時你若閉口不言，猶大人必從別處得解脫，蒙拯救；你和你父家必致滅亡。焉知你得了王后的位分不是為現今的機會嗎？」

「你當去招聚書珊城所有的猶大人，為我禁食三晝三夜，不吃不喝；我和我的宮女也要這樣禁食。然後我違例進去見王，我若死就死吧！」
