顧惜自己生命的，必要喪掉生命；但為我犧牲生命的，必要得著生命。

只知道在各城裡聖靈都向我指明，說有捆鎖和患難在等著我。但我並不珍惜自己的性命，只求跑完我的路程，完成我從主耶穌所領受的職分，為神恩惠的福音作見證。

凡是想保全生命的，必喪掉生命；凡是犧牲生命的，卻必保全生命。

這時你若是緘默不言，猶大人必會從別的地方得著解救，那時你和你的父家就必滅亡。誰知你得了王后的位分，不是為了挽救現今的危機嗎？”

“你要去，把書珊城所有的猶大人都召集起來，為我禁食三天，就是三日三夜不吃不喝；我和我的婢女也要這樣禁食。然後我就違例進去見王；我若是死，就死吧。”
