Then Jesus said to his disciples,“ If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

乃諭諸徒曰：『人欲從予、必須克己、負其十字架、而追隨予後。

Then Jesus said to his disciples,“ Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

Jesus looking at him loved him, and said to him,“ One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross.”

He said to all,“ If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, will save it.For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits his own self?For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed, when he comes in his glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels.But I tell you the truth: There are some of those who stand here who will in no way taste of death until they see God’s Kingdom.”

Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

He called the multitude to himself with his disciples, and said to them,“ Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

By faith, Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,choosing rather to share ill treatment with God’s people than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a time,considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he looked to the reward.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the assembly,

strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that through many afflictions we must enter into God’s Kingdom.

He went out, bearing his cross, to the place called“ The Place of a Skull”, which is called in Hebrew,“ Golgotha”,

that no one would be moved by these afflictions. For you know that we are appointed to this task.

They compelled one passing by, coming from the country, Simon of Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to go with them, that he might bear his cross.

As they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name, and they compelled him to go with them, that he might carry his cross.

When they led him away, they grabbed one Simon of Cyrene, coming from the country, and laid on him the cross, to carry it after Jesus.
