于是耶稣对门徒说：“若有人要跟从我，就当舍己，背起他的十字架来跟从我。

乃諭諸徒曰：『人欲從予、必須克己、負其十字架、而追隨予後。

Then Jesus said to his disciples,“ Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

Then Jesus spoke to his disciples. He said,“ Whoever wants to be my disciple must say no to themselves. They must pick up their cross and follow me.

Then Jesus told his disciples,“ If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

基督既以身受苦、爾亦宜以此志自衛、蓋受苦於身者、則與罪絕矣、俾不再循人慾、惟循上帝之旨、以度餘年、

耶穌顧而愛之曰、爾猶缺一、往鬻所有以濟貧、則將有財於天、且來從我、

又謂眾曰、欲從我者、當克己日負其十架以從、蓋凡欲救其生者、將喪之、為我喪其生者、將救之、利盡天下、而自喪自亡、何益之有、蓋凡恥我及我道者、迨人子以己與父、及聖使之榮而臨時、亦必恥其人、我誠語汝、立於此者有人、未死之先、得見上帝國也、○

凡欲宗基督耶穌敬虔度生者、必受窘逐、

遂召眾與門徒語之曰、欲從我者、當克己、負其十架以從、

摩西有信、既長、不願稱為法老女之子、寧與上帝民共受艱辛、不欲暫享罪惡之樂、以為緣基督受辱、富於埃及所有之財貨、望賞賚故也、

今我緣爾受苦則喜、且為基督之身即教會、以我身補基督患難之不足耳、

堅門徒心、勸之恆居於道、言我儕入上帝國必歷多艱、

眾曳之、耶穌自負十架而出、至一地、名髑髏處、希伯來音、曰各各他、

俾無人為諸苦所搖、蓋爾自知分定於此也、

有古利奈人西門、即亞力山大與魯孚之父、來自田間、經此、眾強之偕往、負耶穌之十架、

眾出、遇一古利奈人、西門、強之偕往、負耶穌之十架、

曳耶穌去時、有古利奈人西門、來自田間、眾執之、以十架置其身、使負之、從耶穌後、○
