Then Jesus said to his disciples,“ Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

Then Jesus told his disciples,“ If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

不背起自己的十字架来跟从我的，也不配属于我。

凡是不背着自己的十字架来跟从我的，也不能做我的门徒。

所以，基督既然在肉身上受过苦，你们也应该以同样的心志装备自己，因为那在肉身上受过苦的，就已经与罪断绝了，以致不再顺着人的欲望，而是顺着神的旨意，在世上度余下的时间。

耶稣注视着他，就爱他，对他说：“你还缺少一件：去卖掉你所拥有的，分给穷人，这样你将有财宝在天上；然后你来跟从我。”

耶稣又对大家说：“如果有人想要来跟从我，他就当否定自己，天天背起自己的十字架，然后跟从我。因为凡想要保全自己生命的，将失去生命；凡为我的缘故失去自己生命的，这个人将保全生命。一个人就是赚得了全世界，却丧失了自己，或赔上了自己，到底有什么益处呢？一个人如果以我和我的话为耻，当人子在自己、父，和圣天使们的荣耀中来临的时候，也要以这个人为耻。我确实地告诉你们：站在这里的有些人，在还没有尝到死的滋味之前，必定见到神的国。”

其实，所有想要在基督耶稣里过敬神生活的，也都会受到逼迫；

于是，耶稣把众人和他的门徒们一起召来，对他们说：“如果有人想要跟从我，他就当舍弃自己，背起自己的十字架，然后跟从我。

因着信，摩西长大以后，拒绝被称为法老女儿的儿子。他宁愿选择与神的子民同受虐待，也不愿享受暂时的罪中之乐。他把为基督受的责骂看做是比埃及的财宝更大的财富，因为他注目那将来的报偿。

如今我为你们受苦难，感到欢喜；并且我为基督的身体，就是教会，要在我的肉体上补满基督患难的缺欠。

坚固门徒们的心，鼓励他们持守信仰，说：“我们进入神的国，必须经过很多患难。”

耶稣自己背着十字架出来，前往一个叫“骷髅地”的地方，希伯来语叫做“各各他”。

免得有人在这些患难中动摇。因为你们自己知道，我们要受患难是注定的。

有一个古利奈人西门，是亚历山大和鲁弗斯的父亲，正从乡下来，经过那里。他们就强迫他来背耶稣的十字架。

他们出去的时候，遇见一个名叫西门的古利奈人，就强迫这个人来背耶稣的十字架。

他们把耶稣带走的时候，抓了一个从乡下来的古利奈人西门，把十字架放在他身上，要他背着，跟在耶稣后面。
