Then Jesus said to his disciples,“ Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

Then Jesus spoke to his disciples. He said,“ Whoever wants to be my disciple must say no to themselves. They must pick up their cross and follow me.

Then Jesus told his disciples,“ If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

Then Jesus said to his disciples,“ If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.

Then Jesus said to his disciples,“ If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

凡不背起自己的十字架来跟从我的，也不配作属我的。

凡不背着自己的十字架跟随我的，也不能作我的门徒。

基督既然在肉身受过苦，你们也应当以同样的心志装备自己（因为在肉身受过苦的，就已经与罪断绝了），好叫你们不再随从人的私欲，只顺从神的旨意，在世上度余下的光阴。

耶稣看着他，就爱他，对他说：“你还缺少一件：去变卖你所有的，分给穷人，就必定有财宝在天上，而且你要来跟从我。”

耶稣又对众人说：“如果有人愿意跟从我，就当舍己，天天背起他的十字架来跟从我。凡是想救自己生命的，必丧掉生命；但为我牺牲自己生命的，必救了生命。人若赚得全世界，却丧失自己，或赔上自己，有什么好处呢？凡是把我和我的道当作可耻的，人子在自己与父并圣天使的荣耀里降临的时候，也必把他当作可耻的。我实在告诉你们，站在这里的，有人在没有尝过死味以前必定要看见神的国。”

其实，所有立志在基督耶稣里过敬虔生活的，都必遭受迫害。

于是把众人和门徒都叫过来，对他们说：“如果有人愿意跟从我，就应当舍己，背起他的十字架来跟从我。

因着信，摩西长大了以后，就拒绝被称为法老女儿的儿子。他宁愿选择和神的子民一同受苦，也不肯享受罪恶中暂时的快乐。在他看来，为着基督受的凌辱，比埃及的财物更宝贵，因为他注视将来的赏赐。

现在我为你们受苦，我觉得喜乐；为了基督的身体，就是为了教会，我要在自己的肉身上，补满基督苦难的不足。

坚固门徒的心，劝他们恒守所信的道，又说：“我们进入神的国，必须经历许多苦难。”

他们把耶稣带去了。耶稣自己背着十字架出来，到了一个名叫“髑髅”的地方，希伯来话叫各各他。

免得有人在各样的患难中动摇了。你们自己知道，我们受患难原是命定的。

有一个古利奈人西门，就是亚历山大和鲁孚的父亲，从乡下来到，经过那里，士兵就强迫他背着耶稣的十字架。

他们出来的时候，遇见一个古利奈人，名叫西门，就强迫他背耶稣的十字架。

他们把耶稣带走的时候，抓住了一个从乡下来的古利奈人西门，把十字架放在他身上，叫他背着跟在耶稣后面。
