嗣謂人子須歷諸苦、為長老司祭長經生所絕、終必被害、第三日復活。耶穌作此啟示、伯鐸祿挽而諫之。耶穌顧視門徒、謂伯鐸祿曰：『沙殫退去！爾不體主旨、惟體人意。』更謂眾及門徒曰：『人欲從予、必先舍己、負其十字架而隨我後。欲救其生者、將喪其生；為予及福音而舍其生者、終必獲生。人雖富有天下、苟失其生、亦有何益？且更將以何物易其生乎？處此淫邪之世、而以吾及吾道為恥者、人子佩聖父榮光、偕聖天神降臨之日、亦必以其人為可恥也。』又謂眾曰：『我實告爾、現立斯中者、必有未嘗死味以前、獲睹天主之國乘權而來者焉。』

『爾知十日後、即為免難節、人子將被縛而釘於十字架矣。』

彼按天主之定謨及預知、被付於人而爾曹復假不義者之手、釘死之於十字架上；天主為解苦厄、使之復活、死固不足以限之也。大維嘗指之曰：恩主恆在目、宛然參我前。有主扶我右、吾志寧能遷。怡悅充五內、歡愉騰舌端。永寄無窮望、形體亦自安。爾將保吾魂、弗使淪窅冥。寧容聖者軀、沾染朽腐痕。指我生命路、飫我承顏欣。諸兄弟乎！容我直言不諱、先祖大維逝且葬矣、其墓至今猶在。大維先知也、自知曾蒙天主許誓、其後裔必有登其寶座者、故憑其先見而論基督復活、謂其心靈固不淪於窅冥、而其身軀亦不遭朽腐也。天主之復活耶穌、吾儕實為見證。

惟於司祭長及耆老之控訴、概不置答。

且曰人子尚須備嘗苦難、為長老司祭經生所棄、終且被害、第三目復活。耶穌諭眾曰：『人欲從予、務宜克己、日負其十字架、而隨予後。蓋欲自保其生者、反將失之、惟為予之故、而舍其生者、克保其生。人即富有天下、而喪亡其真我、亦有何益？蓋凡以予及吾道為恥者、則人子憑己威光、且憑聖父聖天神之威光、赫然臨格時、亦必以其人為恥也。予實語爾、現立於斯者、必有未嘗死味之前、得睹天主之國者矣。』

吾實語爾、現立於斯者、必有未死之前、獲睹人子乘權而降焉。』

耶穌應曰：『爾試摧毀斯殿、予將於三日內重建之。』猶太人曰：『此殿歷四十六載始成、爾乃欲以三日重建耶？』顧耶穌所言之殿、乃指其身。

言際、十二徒之一茹答斯者果至、群人手刃興梃而隨之、蓋均為司祭長及民間耆老所遣者。
