So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family.Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord.Through him you Gentiles are also being made part of this dwelling where God lives by his Spirit.

For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building.Because of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful.For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have— Jesus Christ.

Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says:“ Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a firm and tested stone. It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never be shaken.

Then Andrew brought Simon to meet Jesus. Looking intently at Simon, Jesus said,“ Your name is Simon, son of John— but you will be called Cephas”( which means“ Peter”).

Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything.

Those who trust in the Lord are as secure as Mount Zion; they will not be defeated but will endure forever.Just as the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people, both now and forever.

so that if I am delayed, you will know how people must conduct themselves in the household of God. This is the church of the living God, which is the pillar and foundation of the truth.

But Jesus deserves far more glory than Moses, just as a person who builds a house deserves more praise than the house itself.For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God.

Tell him,‘ This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Here is the man called the Branch. He will branch out from where he is and build the Temple of the Lord.Yes, he will build the Temple of the Lord. Then he will receive royal honor and will rule as king from his throne. He will also serve as priest from his throne, and there will be perfect harmony between his two roles.’

all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.

But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!

Lord, have mercy on me. See how my enemies torment me. Snatch me back from the jaws of death.

Do you know where the gates of death are located? Have you seen the gates of utter gloom?

Saul was one of the witnesses, and he agreed completely with the killing of Stephen. A great wave of persecution began that day, sweeping over the church in Jerusalem; and all the believers except the apostles were scattered through the regions of Judea and Samaria.

If the person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church. Then if he or she won’t accept the church’s decision, treat that person as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector.

Wisdom is too lofty for fools. Among leaders at the city gate, they have nothing to say.

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.

“ And you people of Capernaum, will you be honored in heaven? No, you will go down to the place of the dead. For if the miracles I did for you had been done in wicked Sodom, it would still be here today.

The wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were written the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

In fact, James, Peter, and John, who were known as pillars of the church, recognized the gift God had given me, and they accepted Barnabas and me as their co workers. They encouraged us to keep preaching to the Gentiles, while they continued their work with the Jews.

This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one.

Here are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon( also called Peter), then Andrew( Peter’s brother), James( son of Zebedee), John( James’s brother),

For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for herto make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word.He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault.

Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.

Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one— for God himself has given us right standing with himself.Who then will condemn us? No one— for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?( As the Scriptures say,“ For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”)No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow— not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.No power in the sky above or in the earth below— indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

For if a man cannot manage his own household, how can he take care of God’s church?

I said,“ In the prime of my life, must I now enter the place of the dead? Am I to be robbed of the rest of my years?”

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone.And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying,“ Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”

I will certainly bless you. I will multiply your descendants beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies.

Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices shouting in heaven:“ The world has now become the Kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever.”

I am the favorite topic of town gossip, and all the drunks sing about me.

O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”

“ If you think that’s the best plan, I’ll do it,” the king answered. So he stood alongside the gate of the town as all the troops marched out in groups of hundreds and of thousands.

He will give a longing for justice to their judges. He will give great courage to their warriors who stand at the gates.

They couldn’t stand the thought of food, and they were knocking on death’s door.

How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them! He will not be put to shame when he confronts his accusers at the city gates.
