So, then, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with the saints, and members of God’s household,built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone.In him the whole building, being put together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.In him you are also being built together for God’s dwelling in the Spirit.

For we are God’s coworkers. You are God’s field, God’s building.According to God’s grace that was given to me, I have laid a foundation as a skilled master builder, and another builds on it. But each one is to be careful how he builds on it.For no one can lay any foundation other than what has been laid down. That foundation is Jesus Christ.

Therefore the Lord GOD said:“ Look, I have laid a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; the one who believes will be unshakable.

and he brought Simon to Jesus. When Jesus saw him, he said,“ You are Simon, son of John. You will be called Cephas”( which is translated“ Peter”).

He is also the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything.

Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion. It cannot be shaken; it remains forever.The mountains surround Jerusalem and the LORD surrounds his people, both now and forever.

But if I should be delayed, I have written so that you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.

For Jesus is considered worthy of more glory than Moses, just as the builder has more honor than the house.Now every house is built by someone, but the one who built everything is God.

You are to tell him: This is what the LORD of Armies says: Here is a man whose name is Branch; he will branch out from his place and build the LORD’s temple.Yes, he will build the LORD’s temple; he will bear royal splendor and will sit on his throne and rule. I said: In the prime of my life I must go to the gates of Sheol; I am deprived of the rest of my years.

I will indeed bless you and make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your offspring will possess the city gates of their enemies.

The seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven saying, The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever.

Those who sit at the city gate talk about me, and drunkards make up songs about me.

Where, death, is your victory? Where, death, is your sting?

“ I will do whatever you think is best,” the king replied to them. So he stood beside the city gate while all the troops marched out by hundreds and thousands.

a spirit of justice to the one who sits in judgment, and strength to those who repel attacks at the city gate.

They loathed all food and came near the gates of death.

Happy is the man who has filled his quiver with them. They will never be put to shame when they speak with their enemies at the city gate.
