這麼一說，他便可以不必敬奉父親或母親！那就是你們竟因了你們的傳統規矩而取消上帝的話了！

遂可不敬父母、是爾以爾遺傳廢上帝誡也、

遂可不敬父母、是爾以爾遺傳而廢天主之誡矣、

乃無須養其父母。」是爾以人之傳習、廢天主之道也。

they are not to‘ honor their father or mother’ with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition.

In this way, you say they don’t need to honor their parents. And so you cancel the word of God for the sake of your own tradition.

he is not to honor his father or mother.’ And by this you have invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition.

then he need not honor his father or mother.’ Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.

And honour not his father or his mother,[ he shall be free]. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

Everyone should provide for their own relatives. Most of all, everyone should take care of their own family. If they don’t, they have left the faith. They are worse than someone who doesn’t believe.

Lord, it’s time for you to act. People are breaking your law.

“‘ “How can you people say,‘ We are wise. We have the law of the Lord’? Actually, the teachers of the law have told lies about it. Their pens have not written what is true.

Suppose a woman is a believer and takes care of widows. She should continue to help them. She shouldn’t let the church pay the expenses. Then the church can help the widows who really need it.

You make the word of God useless by putting your own teachings in its place. And you do many things like this.”

“ The lips of a priest should guard knowledge. After all, he is the messenger of the Lord who rules over all. And people seek instruction from his mouth.But you have turned away from the right path. Your teaching has caused many people to trip and fall. You have broken my covenant with Levi,” says the Lord who rules over all.“ So I have caused all the people to hate you. They have lost respect for you. You have not done what I told you to do. Instead, you have favored one person over another in matters of the law.”

My anger is wearing me out, because my enemies don’t pay any attention to your words.

Does faith make the law useless? Not at all! We agree with the law.

My people are destroyed because they do not know me.“ You priests have refused to obey me. So I will refuse to accept you as my priests. You have not paid any attention to my law. So I will not let your children be my priests.

Take care of the widows who really need help.But suppose a widow has children or grandchildren. They should first learn to put their faith into practice. They should care for their own family. In that way they will pay back their parents and grandparents. That pleases God.
