And the disciples said to him,“ Where are we to get enough bread in such a desolate place to feed so great a crowd?”

門徒曰、在此野地、安得多餅以飽如此之眾乎、

徒曰：『在斯曠野、安得如許餅餌、以享若眾？』

His disciples answered,“ Where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd?”

His disciples answered him.“ There is nothing here,” they said.“ Where could we get enough bread to feed this large crowd?”

The disciples replied,“ Where would we get enough food here in the wilderness for such a huge crowd?”

The disciples said to him,“ Where could we get enough bread in this desolate place to feed such a crowd?”

The disciples* said to Him,“ Where would we get so many loaves in this desolate place to satisfy such a large crowd?”

Then His disciples said to Him,“ Where could we get enough bread in the wilderness to fill such a great multitude?”

And the disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so many loaves in a desert place as to fill so great a multitude?

The disciples said to Him,“ Where could we get enough bread in this desolate place to fill such a crowd?”

But he answered them,“ You give them something to eat.” And they said to him,“ Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give it to them to eat?”

And his disciples answered him,“ How can one feed these people with bread here in this desolate place?”And he asked them,“ How many loaves do you have?” They said,“ Seven.”

Lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip,“ Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?”He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.Philip answered him,“ Two hundred denarii worth of bread would not be enough for each of them to get a little.”One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him,“ There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?”

But he said to them,“ You give them something to eat.” They said,“ We have no more than five loaves and two fish— unless we are to go and buy food for all these people.”

Now when it was evening, the disciples came to him and said,“ This is a desolate place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves.”

A man came from Baal-shalishah, bringing the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley and fresh ears of grain in his sack. And Elisha said,“ Give to the men, that they may eat.”But his servant said,“ How can I set this before a hundred men?” So he repeated,“ Give them to the men, that they may eat, for thus says the Lord,‘ They shall eat and have some left.’”So he set it before them. And they ate and had some left, according to the word of the Lord.

But Moses said,“ The people among whom I am number six hundred thousand on foot, and you have said,‘ I will give them meat, that they may eat a whole month!’Shall flocks and herds be slaughtered for them, and be enough for them? Or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, and be enough for them?”
