Then Jesus called his disciples and told them,“ I feel sorry for these people. They have been here with me for three days, and they have nothing left to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry, or they will faint along the way.”

Jesus called his disciples to him and said,“ I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way.”

Then Jesus called for his disciples to come to him. He said,“ I feel deep concern for these people. They have already been with me three days. They don’t have anything to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry. If I do, they will become too weak on their way home.”

Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said,“ I have compassion on the crowd because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat. And I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”

Now Jesus summoned His disciples and said,“ I have compassion on the crowd, because they’ve already stayed with Me three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry; otherwise they might collapse on the way.”

Then Jesus called his disciples[ unto him], and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

“ And don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things.These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs.

Just as day was dawning, Paul urged everyone to eat.“ You have been so worried that you haven’t touched food for two weeks,” he said.

Along the way they found an Egyptian man in a field and brought him to David. They gave him some bread to eat and water to drink.They also gave him part of a fig cake and two clusters of raisins, for he hadn’t had anything to eat or drink for three days and nights. Before long his strength returned.

Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.That evening the disciples came to him and said,“ This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves.”But Jesus said,“ That isn’t necessary— you feed them.”“ But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish!” they answered.“ Bring them here,” he said.Then he told the people to sit down on the grass. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave the bread to the disciples, who distributed it to the people.They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers.About 5,000 men were fed that day, in addition to all the women and children!

Jesus felt sorry for them and touched their eyes. Instantly they could see! Then they followed him.

The spirit often throws him into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us, if you can.”

When the Lord saw her, his heart overflowed with compassion.“ Don’t cry!” he said.

For as Jonah was in the belly of the great fish for three days and three nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.

This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.

They told him,“ Sir, we remember what that deceiver once said while he was still alive:‘ After three days I will rise from the dead.’

These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

About this time another large crowd had gathered, and the people ran out of food again. Jesus called his disciples and told them,“ I feel sorry for these people. They have been here with me for three days, and they have nothing left to eat.If I send them home hungry, they will faint along the way. For some of them have come a long distance.”His disciples replied,“ How are we supposed to find enough food to feed them out here in the wilderness?”Jesus asked,“ How much bread do you have?”“ Seven loaves,” they replied.So Jesus told all the people to sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves, thanked God for them, and broke them into pieces. He gave them to his disciples, who distributed the bread to the crowd.A few small fish were found, too, so Jesus also blessed these and told the disciples to distribute them.They ate as much as they wanted. Afterward, the disciples picked up seven large baskets of leftover food.There were about 4,000 men in the crowd that day, and Jesus sent them home after they had eaten.Immediately after this, he got into a boat with his disciples and crossed over to the region of Dalmanutha.

But one of the men saw him and said,“ Your father made the army take a strict oath that anyone who eats food today will be cursed. That is why everyone is weary and faint.”“ My father has made trouble for us all!” Jonathan exclaimed.“ A command like that only hurts us. See how refreshed I am now that I have eaten this little bit of honey.If the men had been allowed to eat freely from the food they found among our enemies, think how many more Philistines we could have killed!”They chased and killed the Philistines all day from Micmash to Aijalon, growing more and more faint.
