Jesus called his disciples to him and said,“ I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way.”

Then Jesus called for his disciples to come to him. He said,“ I feel deep concern for these people. They have already been with me three days. They don’t have anything to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry. If I do, they will become too weak on their way home.”

Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said,“ I have compassion on the crowd because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat. And I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”

Then Jesus called his disciples and told them,“ I feel sorry for these people. They have been here with me for three days, and they have nothing left to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry, or they will faint along the way.”

And Jesus called unto him his disciples, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days and have nothing to eat: and I would not send them away fasting, lest haply they faint on the way.

Now Jesus summoned His disciples and said,“ I have compassion on the crowd, because they’ve already stayed with Me three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry; otherwise they might collapse on the way.”

Then Jesus called his disciples[ unto him], and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.

Then Jesus called the disciples and said,“ I have compassion on the crowd, because they have already been here with me three days and they have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry since they may faint on the way.”

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it.For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them.

Just before dawn Paul urged them all to eat.“ For the last fourteen days,” he said,“ you have been in constant suspense and have gone without food— you haven’t eaten anything.

They found an Egyptian in a field and brought him to David. They gave him water to drink and food to eat—part of a cake of pressed figs and two cakes of raisins. He ate and was revived, for he had not eaten any food or drunk any water for three days and three nights.

When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said,“ This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”Jesus replied,“ They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”“ We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.“ Bring them here to me,” he said.And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.

Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.

“ It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.”

When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said,“ Don’t cry.”

For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are— yet he did not sin.

“ Sir,” they said,“ we remember that while he was still alive that deceiver said,‘ After three days I will rise again.’

For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

During those days another large crowd gathered. Since they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to him and said,“ I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat.If I send them home hungry, they will collapse on the way, because some of them have come a long distance.”His disciples answered,“ But where in this remote place can anyone get enough bread to feed them?”“ How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked.“ Seven,” they replied.He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. When he had taken the seven loaves and given thanks, he broke them and gave them to his disciples to distribute to the people, and they did so.They had a few small fish as well; he gave thanks for them also and told the disciples to distribute them.The people ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.About four thousand were present. After he had sent them away,he got into the boat with his disciples and went to the region of Dalmanutha.

Then one of the soldiers told him,“ Your father bound the army under a strict oath, saying,‘ Cursed be anyone who eats food today!’ That is why the men are faint.”Jonathan said,“ My father has made trouble for the country. See how my eyes brightened when I tasted a little of this honey.How much better it would have been if the men had eaten today some of the plunder they took from their enemies. Would not the slaughter of the Philistines have been even greater?”That day, after the Israelites had struck down the Philistines from Mikmash to Aijalon, they were exhausted.
