耶穌召來他的門徒們，說：「我憐憫這群人，因為他們與我在一起已經三天了，也沒有什麼東西吃。我不願意讓他們餓著肚子回去，恐怕他們在路上暈倒。」

耶稣叫门徒来，说：“我怜悯这众人；因为他们同我在这里已经三天，也没有吃的了。我不愿意叫他们饿着回去，恐怕在路上困乏。”

Jesus called his disciples to him and said,“ I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way.”

Then Jesus called for his disciples to come to him. He said,“ I feel deep concern for these people. They have already been with me three days. They don’t have anything to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry. If I do, they will become too weak on their way home.”

Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said,“ I have compassion on the crowd because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat. And I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”

Then Jesus called his disciples and told them,“ I feel sorry for these people. They have been here with me for three days, and they have nothing left to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry, or they will faint along the way.”

Jesus called his disciples and said,“ I have compassion on the crowd, because they’ve already stayed with me three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry, otherwise they might collapse on the way.”

Now Jesus called His disciples to Him and said,“ I feel compassion for the people, because they have remained with Me now for three days and have nothing to eat; and I do not want to send them away hungry, for they might faint on the way.”

Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said,“ I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”

And Jesus called unto him his disciples, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days and have nothing to eat: and I would not send them away fasting, lest haply they faint on the way.

Now Jesus summoned His disciples and said,“ I have compassion on the crowd, because they’ve already stayed with Me three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry; otherwise they might collapse on the way.”

Then Jesus called his disciples[ unto him], and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.

耶穌看見眾人，就對他們動了憐憫之心，因為他們困苦流離，像羊沒有牧人那樣。

你們不要追求吃什麼、喝什麼，也不要掛慮。因為這一切都是世界外邦人所尋求的，而你們的父已經知道你們需要這些了。

天快亮的時候，保羅勸大家用飯，說：「你們一直挨餓等候，什麼都不吃，今天是第十四天了。

他們在曠野中發現了一個埃及人，就把他帶到大衛那裡，給他東西吃，給他水喝。他們給了他一塊無花果餅、兩個葡萄餅，他吃了，就恢復了精神。他已經三天三夜沒有吃東西，沒有喝水了。

耶穌下了船，看見一大群人，就對他們動了憐憫之心，使其中的病人痊癒。黃昏的時候，門徒們來到耶穌面前，說：「這是個荒僻的地方，而且天已經晚了。請遣散人群，好讓他們到村莊去為自己買些食物。」但耶穌說：「他們不需要離開，你們給他們吃的吧。」門徒們對耶穌說：「我們這裡除了五個餅和兩條魚，就沒有什麼了。」耶穌說：「拿到我這裡來。」於是耶穌吩咐眾人坐在草地上，就拿起這五個餅和兩條魚，抬頭望天，祝福了，然後掰開餅，遞給門徒們，他們又分給眾人。大家都吃了，並且吃飽了。他們把剩下的碎塊收拾起來，裝滿了十二個籃子。吃的人，不算婦女和孩子，約有五千。

耶穌動了憐憫之心，摸了他們的眼睛。他們立刻重見光明，於是跟隨了耶穌。

邪靈經常把他扔進火裡或水裡，要害死他。但你如果能做什麼，就求你憐憫我們，幫助我們！」

主看見那寡婦，就對她動了憐憫之心，向她說：「不要哭了！」

就是說，正如約拿在大魚的肚子裡三天三夜，人子也照樣將要在地心三天三夜。

因為我們的大祭司不是不能同情我們的種種軟弱，而是在各方面照著與我們相同的樣式受過試探，只是沒有犯罪。

說：「大人，我們想起當那個迷惑人的還活著時曾經說過：『在第三天我要復活。』

因為這一切都是外邦人所尋求的，而你們的天父已經知道你們需要這一切了。所以你們應當先尋求神的國和神的義，這一切都將加給你們了。

在那些日子裡，又一次，有一大群人，他們沒有什麼東西吃。耶穌召來門徒們，對他們說：「我憐憫這群人，因為他們與我在一起已經三天了，也沒有什麼東西吃。如果我讓他們餓著肚子回家，他們會在路上暈倒，因為有些人從遠處而來。」他的門徒們回答：「在這曠野，從哪裡能得食物讓這些人吃飽呢？」耶穌問他們：「你們有多少餅呢？」他們回答說：「七個。」耶穌就吩咐眾人坐在地上，於是拿起這七個餅，祝謝以後，掰開，不斷遞給他的門徒們，讓他們分發。門徒們就分給眾人；他們還有幾條小魚，耶穌祝福了，就吩咐把牠們也分給眾人。他們吃了，並且吃飽了。然後，他們把剩下的碎塊收拾起來，裝滿了七個筐子。當時約有四千人。耶穌遣散了他們，隨即與他的門徒們一起上船，來到達瑪努達地區。

軍兵中有人告訴他說：「你父親讓大家鄭重起誓說：『今天吃東西的人，是受詛咒的！』所以軍兵就疲乏了。」約拿單說：「我父親給這地帶來了麻煩。你們看，我嘗了一點這蜂蜜，眼睛就明亮了。如果今天軍兵能隨意吃從仇敵奪來的東西，那該多好！現在被擊殺的非利士人不就更多了嗎？」那天他們擊殺非利士人，從米克瑪直到阿雅崙，軍兵非常疲乏。
