忽有一個迦南婦人從那境內出來，嚷着說：『主啊，大衛的子孫哪，可憐我；我女兒被鬼附得很苦呢。』

這時候，忽然來了一個住在那地區的迦南婦人，她呼叫說：「主啊，大衛的後裔，可憐我吧！我的女兒有鬼魔附身，痛苦萬分。」

有一迦南婦、由其地出、大聲呼曰、主、大衛之裔、矜憐我、我女患魔苦甚、

有迦南婦人來自彼域、大呼曰：『主、大維子、其垂憐焉。吾女為魔所祟、苦甚』

A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out,“ Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon- possessed and suffering terribly.”

A woman from Canaan lived near Tyre and Sidon. She came to him and cried out,“ Lord! Son of David! Have mercy on me! A demon controls my daughter. She is suffering terribly.”

And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying,“ Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.”

A Gentile woman who lived there came to him, pleading,“ Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! For my daughter is possessed by a demon that torments her severely.”

Just then a Canaanite woman from that region came and kept crying out,“ Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely tormented by a demon.”

And a Canaanite woman from that region came out and began to cry out, saying,“ Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely demon possessed.”

And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying,“ Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”

And behold, a Canaanitish woman came out from those borders, and cried, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a demon.

Just then a Canaanite woman from that region came and kept crying out,“ Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is cruelly tormented by a demon.”

And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord,[ thou] Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

Behold, a Canaanite woman came out from those borders, and cried, saying,“ Have mercy on me, Lord, you son of David! My daughter is severely possessed by a demon!”

As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, shouting,“ Have mercy on us, Son of David!”

and said,“ Lord, have mercy on my son, because he has seizures and suffers terribly, for he often falls into the fire and into the water.

So he called out,“ Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”And those who were in front scolded him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted even more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Instead, a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit immediately heard about him and came and fell at his feet.The woman was a Greek, of Syrophoenician origin. She asked him to cast the demon out of her daughter.

“ What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said,“ The son of David.”He said to them,“ How then does David by the Spirit call him‘ Lord,’ saying,‘ The Lord said to my lord,“ Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet”’?If David then calls him‘ Lord,’ how can he be his son?”

A member of the crowd said to him,“ Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that makes him mute.Whenever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams at the mouth, grinds his teeth, and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to cast it out, but they were not able to do so.”He answered them,“ You unbelieving generation! How much longer must I be with you? How much longer must I endure you? Bring him to me.”So they brought the boy to him. When the spirit saw him, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell on the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.Jesus asked his father,“ How long has this been happening to him?” And he said,“ From childhood.It has often thrown him into fire or water to destroy him. But if you are able to do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

Others said,“ This is the Christ!” But still others said,“ No, for the Christ doesn’t come from Galilee, does he?Don’t the scriptures say that the Christ is a descendant of David and comes from Bethlehem, the village where David lived?”

When I call out, answer me, O God who vindicates me! Though I am hemmed in, you will lead me into a wide, open place. Have mercy on me and respond to my prayer!

Have mercy on me, LORD, for I am frail! Heal me, LORD, for my bones are shaking!

So a report about him spread throughout Syria. People brought to him all who suffered with various illnesses and afflictions, those who had seizures, paralytics, and those possessed by demons, and he healed them.

Therefore produce fruit that proves your repentance,and don’t think you can say to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that God can raise up children for Abraham from these stones!

The tax collector, however, stood far off and would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said,‘ God, be merciful to me, sinner that I am!’
