( For the Pharisees and all the Jews don’t eat unless they wash their hands and forearms, holding to the tradition of the elders.They don’t eat when they come from the marketplace unless they bathe themselves, and there are many other things, which they have received to hold to: washings of cups, pitchers, bronze vessels, and couches.)

When the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that he had not first washed himself before dinner.The Lord said to him,“ Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness.You foolish ones, didn’t he who made the outside make the inside also?

But for the cowardly, unbelieving, sinners, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

Don’t you know that you are a temple of God, and that God’s Spirit lives in you?If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, which you are.

Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom.Some of you were such, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and unrighteousness.You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the platter, that its outside may become clean also.

Flee sexual immorality!“ Every sin that a man does is outside the body,” but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not appropriate, but rather giving of thanks.Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God.Let no one deceive you with empty words. For because of these things, the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.

“ Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat bread.”
