But the words you speak come from the heart— that’s what defiles you.

惟独出口的，是从心里发出来的，这才污秽人。

然而口里出来的是出于心里，这才玷污人。

But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them.

It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.”

And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself.People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish,but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison.Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God.And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!

The tongue of the wise makes knowledge appealing, but the mouth of a fool belches out foolishness.

The lips of the godly speak helpful words, but the mouth of the wicked speaks perverse words.

As that old proverb says,‘ From evil people come evil deeds.’ So you can be sure I will never harm you.

What are worthless and wicked people like? They are constant liars,

Everything they say is crooked and deceitful. They refuse to act wisely or do good.

“‘ You wicked servant!’ the king roared.‘ Your own words condemn you. If you knew that I’m a hard man who takes what isn’t mine and harvests crops I didn’t plant,

Then the beast was allowed to speak great blasphemies against God. And he was given authority to do whatever he wanted for forty two months.And he spoke terrible words of blasphemy against God, slandering his name and his dwelling— that is, those who dwell in heaven.
