Right away Jesus called out to them,“ Be brave! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

But Jesus immediately said to them:“ Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

The next night the Lord stood near Paul. He said,“ Be brave! You have told people about me in Jerusalem. You must do the same in Rome.”

Some men brought to him a man who could not walk. He was lying on a mat. Jesus saw that they had faith. So he said to the man,“ Don’t lose hope, son. Your sins are forgiven.”

So do not be afraid. I am with you. Do not be terrified. I am your God. I will make you strong and help you. I will hold you safe in my hands. I always do what is right.

But Jesus came and touched them.“ Get up,” he said.“ Don’t be afraid.”

But he said to them,“ It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

Who has made that happen? Who has carried it out? Who has created all the people who have ever lived? I, the Lord, have done it. I was with the first of them. And I will be with the last of them.”

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as if I were dead. Then he put his right hand on me and said,“ Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.I am the Living One. I was dead. But now look! I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys to Death and Hell.

“ I have told you these things, so that you can have peace because of me. In this world you will have trouble. But be encouraged! I have won the battle over the world.”

Then Jesus said to them,“ Don’t be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee. There they will see me.”

“ Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God. Believe in me also.There are many rooms in my Father’s house. If this were not true, would I have told you that I am going there? Would I have told you that I would prepare a place for you there?If I go and do that, I will come back. And I will take you to be with me. Then you will also be where I am.

But the angel said to him,“ Do not be afraid, Zechariah. Your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will have a child. It will be a boy, and you must call him John.

But the angel said to her,“ Do not be afraid, Mary. God is very pleased with you.

Jesus said to them,“ Why are you troubled? Why do you have doubts in your minds?Look at my hands and my feet. It’s really me! Touch me and see. A ghost does not have a body or bones. But you can see that I do.”

But the angel said to them,“ Do not be afraid. I bring you good news. It will bring great joy for all the people.

The Lord says to his people,“ I comfort you because of who I am. Why are you afraid of mere human beings? They are like grass that dries up.

Family of Jacob, you are as weak as a worm. But do not be afraid. People of Israel, there are only a few of you. But do not be afraid. I myself will help you,” announces the Lord. He is the one who sets his people free. He is the Holy One of Israel.
