他的身像水蒼玉，面貌像閃電的樣子，眼睛像火把，手臂和腿像擦亮的銅那麼閃耀，說話的聲音像群眾喊叫的聲音。獨有我但以理看見這異象，那些和我在一起的人都沒有看見，不過他們卻大大驚慌，逃跑躲藏起來了。因此，只有我一人留下來；我看見了這大異象，就全身無力，臉色大變，一點力氣都沒有。我卻仍聽見他說話的聲音；我一聽見他說話的聲音，就沉睡了，臉伏在地。忽然有一隻手按在我身上，使我用膝和手掌勉強支持著要站起來。他對我說：“大蒙眷愛的但以理啊！你應當留意我要對你說的話。你只管站起來，因為我現在奉差遣到你這裡來。”他和我說這話的時候，我就戰戰兢兢地站起來。他又對我說：“但以理啊！不要懼怕，因為自從你第一天決心要明白這些事，又在你的神面前謙卑自己，你禱告的話已蒙垂聽了；我就是因你禱告的話而來的。

大家說：“你瘋了！”她卻堅持地說這是真的。他們說：“一定是他的天使。”

於是他開他們的心竅，使他們明白聖經；
