他們又驚又怕，以為是看見了鬼魂。

那時，主的天使在香壇的右邊向撒迦利亞顯現，撒迦利亞見了，驚慌害怕起來。

我一看見祂，便仆倒在祂腳前，像死了一樣。祂把右手按在我身上，說：「不要害怕！我是首先的，我是末後的，

她們嚇得俯伏在地。那兩個人對她們說：「你們為什麼在死人中找活人呢？

恐懼襲來，令我戰慄不已，全身發抖。有靈從我臉上拂過，使我毛骨悚然。那靈停住，我無法辨認其模樣。眼前出現一個形狀，寂靜中聽見有聲音說，

婦人看見了撒母耳，就驚叫起來，對掃羅說：「你是掃羅，你為什麼騙我呢？」掃羅對她說：「不用害怕，你看見什麼了？」婦人說：「我看見一個靈從地裡上來。」掃羅說：「他是什麼模樣？」婦人說：「是個身披長袍的老人。」掃羅知道是撒母耳，便俯伏在地，向他下拜。

身體如碧玉，面貌如閃電，眼睛如火炬，四肢如明亮的銅，聲音如眾人的呼喊。只有我但以理看見了這異象，跟我在一起的人都沒有看見，但他們極其恐懼，紛紛逃匿，只剩下我一人觀看這奇異的景象。我渾身無力，臉色蒼白，精疲力盡。接著，我聽見他說話的聲音，一聽見他的聲音，我便俯伏在地上昏睡過去。忽然有一隻手輕拍我，扶我用膝和手掌支撐起身體。他對我說：「倍受眷愛的但以理啊，要留心聽我說，站起來吧，因為我是奉命到你這裡來的。」他說完這話，我便戰戰兢兢地站起來。他說：「但以理啊，不要怕，從你在上帝面前謙卑地懇求明白這異象的第一天，你的禱告已蒙垂聽。我是來答覆你的。

他們說：「你一定瘋了。」她堅持說：「是真的！」他們就說：「是他的天使吧！」

於是，耶穌開啟了他們的心竅，使他們明白這些經文，
