And he said,“ Go, sell the oil and pay your debt, and you and your sons can live on the rest.”

And they began to discuss with one another the fact that they had no bread.And Jesus, aware of this,* said to them,“ Why are you discussing the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet comprehend or understand? Do you still have your heart hardened?Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember,when I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces you picked up?” They* said to Him,“ Twelve.”“ When I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of broken pieces did you pick up?” And they* said to Him,“ Seven.”And He was saying to them,“ Do you not yet understand?”

Jesus then took the loaves, and after giving thanks He distributed them to those who were reclining; likewise also of the fish, as much as they wanted.And when they had eaten their fill, He* said to His disciples,“ Gather up the leftover pieces so that nothing will be lost.”So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with pieces from the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.Therefore when the people saw the sign which He had performed, they said,“ This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

But I said,“ Oh, Lord God! Behold, I have never been defiled; for from my youth until now I have never eaten what died of itself or was torn by animals, nor has any unclean meat ever entered my mouth!”Then He said to me,“ See, I will give you cow’s dung in place of human dung, so that you may prepare your bread over it.”Moreover, He said to me,“ Son of man, behold, I am going to break the staff of bread in Jerusalem, and they will eat bread by weight and with anxiety, and drink water by measure and in horror,
