Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed.“ Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked.

越三日、保羅會猶太長者、既集、謂之曰、兄弟、我未獲罪以色列民、違列祖例、然自耶路撒冷、解與羅馬人為囚、羅馬人審我、見無死罪、欲釋我、惟猶太人不可、我不得已叩該撒、非有意訟我民也、為此、請爾曹相見互論、蓋我今繫以鐵索、特為以色列民所望之事耳、眾曰、我儕末受猶太言爾之書、兄弟至此、亦未言爾不道、我願聞爾所見若何、蓋論此教、我知其隨在彼誚矣、既定期、多人至館、保羅自朝至暮、證述上帝國之道、引摩西律、先知言、勸眾信耶穌、其言、有信者、有不信者、兩不相合、將散、保羅發言曰、昔聖神以先知以賽亞、告我列祖者、其言誠是、云、往告此民曰、爾將耳聞而不聰、目視而不明、蓋此民心頑、耳聾、目瞶、免其目視、耳聽、心悟、遷改而我醫之、爾曹當知上帝救道、施及異邦人、彼將聽之也、

故我播爾名於兄弟間、頌爾於會中兮、

我於大會中、彰爾仁慈、我不敢隱、耶和華所知兮、爾之仁慈、我為昭宣、爾救人民、真實無妄、予播揚於大會中兮、

眾見彼得約翰、侃侃如也、識其未學蚩氓、異之、又知其從耶穌、

保羅巴拿巴、毅然曰、上帝道必先傳爾、而爾曹棄之、自擬不當得永生、故我儕轉向異邦人、
