Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed.“ Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked.

耶穌徧行迦利利、在其諸會堂教誨、宣傳天國福音、醫民間諸疾諸病、

彼臨屬己者、而屬己之民不受之、

耶穌至拿撒勒、即其長育之地、於安息日如常入會堂、立而欲讀聖經、有以先知以賽亞書予之、展卷遇一處、載云、主之神臨我、因主膏我、俾我傳福音於貧者、遣我醫傷心之人、告被虜者得釋、瞽者得明、受壓制者得自由、宣天主賜恩之禧年、耶穌掩卷、授執事者而坐、會堂眾人、注目視之、耶穌謂眾曰、爾聞是經、今日應矣、眾稱譽之、奇其口中所出之嘉言、曰、此非約瑟子乎、耶穌曰、爾必引諺語我云、醫士當自醫、我聞爾行於加伯農者、亦當行於故邑、又曰、我誠告爾、未有先知見重於故里者、我誠告爾、昔以利亞時、天閉塞三年有六月、遍地大饑、以色列民間、有多嫠婦、而以利亞未嘗奉遣往就其一、惟往就西頓之撒勒大一嫠婦、又先知以利沙時、以色列民間有多癩者、而無一人得潔、惟敘利亞人乃縵得潔、會堂眾人、聞此言怒甚、遂起、逐之城外、其城建於山、曳耶穌至山崖、欲推之下、耶穌徑行眾中而去、○

至一邑名拿撒勒居焉、是為應諸先知之言云、人將稱之為拿撒勒人矣、

越三日、保羅請猶太人之長者、既集、謂之曰、諸兄長、我未獲罪我民、或犯我列祖之例、竟在耶路撒冷被囚、付於羅瑪人手、羅瑪人審我、見我無死罪、欲釋我、惟猶太人言不可、我不得已、求審於該撒、並非有意訟我民也、為此我請爾曹相見敘論、我實為以色列民所望者被繫以此鐵索、眾曰、我儕未接猶太來書論爾、兄弟至此、亦未言爾有何不善、但我願聞爾意如何、蓋論此教、我知其隨在被非議矣、既訂期、有多人至保羅寓、保羅自朝至暮、歷歷證明天主國之道、引摩西律法、及諸先知預言、詳論耶穌之事以勸眾、保羅所言、有信者、有不信者、彼此不合皆散、將散時、保羅發一言曰、昔聖神託先知以賽亞告我列祖之言誠是、其言云、往告此民曰、爾將聽而不聰、視而不明、蓋此民之心冥頑、自聾其耳、自閉其目、免其目視耳聽心悟、悔改而我醫之、故爾曹當知天主救世之道、已傳於異邦矣、彼將聽之、

我必在我兄弟前傳揚主名、必在會中讚美主、

我在大會中宣揚主之公義、不絕於口、主歟、此乃主所知者、主之公義、我不匿於心中、主之誠信救恩、我必傳揚、主之恩惠真實、我不隱瞞大眾、

眾見彼得約翰、毅然而言、素識其為無學小民、皆異之、又知其曾偕耶穌、

保羅巴拿巴毅然曰、天主之道、當先傳於爾、而爾棄之、自以為不堪得永生、故我儕轉向異邦人、
