Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed.“ Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked.

He came to his hometown of Nazareth. There he began teaching the people in their synagogue. They were amazed.“ Where did this man get this wisdom? Where did he get this power to do miracles?” they asked.

He returned to Nazareth, his hometown. When he taught there in the synagogue, everyone was amazed and said,“ Where does he get this wisdom and the power to do miracles?”

猶太人奇之、曰、斯人未學、何由識書乎、耶穌曰、我之訓非由己、乃由遣我者也、

耶穌去彼至故鄉、門徒從之、適安息日、訓於會堂、眾聞而奇之曰、斯焉得斯、所賦之智慧維何、有如是異能由其手而出耶、此非木工乎、非馬利亞之子、雅各約西猶大西門之昆弟乎、其姊妹非與我儕比鄰乎、遂厭棄之、耶穌曰、先知在故鄉、宗族、室家外、莫不尊焉、耶穌在彼不得行異能、惟手按病者數人而醫之、且異其不信、乃周行諸鄉訓誨焉、○

耶穌周行加利利、在諸會堂訓誨、宣天國福音、醫庶民疾病、

其至己所屬、而屬己者弗受也、

至拿撒勒、即其長育之區、於安息日、循其規入會堂、立而誦讀、或以先知以賽亞書予之、開卷見所載云、主之神偕我矣、蓋彼膏我、以宣福音於貧者、遣我宣告、虜者得釋、瞽者得明、受挫折者得自由、宣揚主悅納之年也、耶穌掩卷、反於役者而坐、會堂眾人注目視之、耶穌謂之曰、是經今日應於爾耳矣、眾證之、且奇其口出恩言、曰、此非約瑟子乎、耶穌曰、爾必引斯諺語我云、醫當自醫、我聞爾行之於迦百農者、亦當行之於故土、又曰、我誠語汝、未有先知見重於故土者、我誠語汝、當以利亞時、天閉塞三年有六月、徧地大饑、以色列中多嫠、以利亞未奉遣往見一人、惟往見西頓撒勒法之一嫠、先知以利沙時、以色列中多癩者、無一得潔、惟敍利亞之乃幔而已、在會堂者聞之、皆怒甚、起而逐之邑外、其邑建於山、曳之至崖、欲投之下、耶穌經行眾中而去、○

至一邑名拿撒勒居之、應諸先知所言云、人將稱之為拿撒勒人矣、

越三日、保羅招猶太諸長者、既集、謂之曰、兄弟、我未干犯斯民、及列祖之規、然自耶路撒冷被囚、付於羅馬人手、羅馬人訊我、見無死罪、欲釋之、惟猶太人爭之、我不得已、上叩該撒、非有所訟我邦也、緣此、請爾相見相諭、蓋我為以色列所望者、乃為此鏈所繫、眾曰、我儕未接自猶太論爾之書、亦未有兄弟來此、或報或言爾有何不善、但我欲聞爾意若何、蓋此教我知其隨在見詆矣、○既定期、多就之於寓、保羅自朝至暮、本摩西律、及先知言、證上帝國、且以耶穌之事勸之、所言有信者、亦有不信者、兩不相合、乃散、將散時、保羅以一言語之曰、善哉、聖神託先知以賽亞告爾列祖云、往告此民曰、爾將聽而不聰、視而不明、蓋斯民心頑、耳聵、自閉其目、恐目視、耳聽、心悟、轉移而我醫之、故爾當知上帝之拯救、施於異邦人、

我將宣爾名於昆弟、頌爾於會中兮、

我於大會中、宣公義之嘉音、必不緘口、爾耶和華所知兮、爾之公義、我未匿之於心、爾之信實拯救、我已宣之、爾之慈惠誠實、於大會中、我未隱之兮、

眾見彼得約翰之果敢、且知其為無學無識之氓、則異之、又知其曾偕耶穌、

保羅巴拿巴毅然曰、上帝道宜先宣於爾、而爾棄之、自擬不堪得永生、我儕轉向異邦人矣、
