All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him.

Get wisdom— how much better it is than gold! And get understanding— it is preferable to silver.

By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughterand chose to suffer with the people of God rather than to enjoy the short-lived pleasure of sin.For he considered the reproach because of the Messiah to be greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, since his attention was on the reward.

But everything that was a gain to me, I have considered to be a loss because of Christ.More than that, I also consider everything to be a loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Because of Him I have suffered the loss of all things and consider them filth, so that I may gain Christand be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own from the law, but one that is through faith in Christ— the righteousness from God based on faith.

In the same way, therefore, every one of you who does not say good-bye to all his possessions cannot be My disciple.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Buy— and do not sell— truth, wisdom, instruction, and understanding.

After he heard this, he became extremely sad, because he was very rich.Seeing that he became sad, Jesus said,“ How hard it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!

And everyone who has left houses, brothers or sisters, father or mother, children, or fields because of My name will receive 100 times more and will inherit eternal life.

Then Peter responded to Him,“ Look, we have left everything and followed You. So what will there be for us?”

“ Come, everyone who is thirsty, come to the waters; and you without money, come, buy, and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost!

I advise you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire so that you may be rich, white clothes so that you may be dressed and your shameful nakedness not be exposed, and ointment to spread on your eyes so that you may see.

But as it is written: What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind— God prepared this for those who love Him.Now God has revealed these things to us by the Spirit, for the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.

“ If you want to be perfect,” Jesus said to him,“ go, sell your belongings and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”

Now all the believers were together and held all things in common.They sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as anyone had a need.Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple complex, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with a joyful and humble attitude,praising God and having favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to them those who were being saved.

He presented another parable to them:“ The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field.

So he quickly came down and welcomed Him joyfully.All who saw it began to complain,“ He’s gone to lodge with a sinful man!”But Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord,“ Look, I’ll give half of my possessions to the poor, Lord! And if I have extorted anything from anyone, I’ll pay back four times as much!”

For you have died, and your life is hidden with the Messiah in God.When the Messiah, who is your life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

For you sympathized with the prisoners and accepted with joy the confiscation of your possessions, knowing that you yourselves have a better and enduring possession.

Now the large group of those who believed were of one heart and mind, and no one said that any of his possessions was his own, but instead they held everything in common.And the apostles were giving testimony with great power to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was on all of them.For there was not a needy person among them, because all those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the proceeds of the things that were sold,and laid them at the apostles’ feet. This was then distributed for each person’s basic needs.

Why does a fool have money in his hand with no intention of buying wisdom?

For whatever was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that we may have hope through endurance and through the encouragement from the Scriptures.

“ I am the bread of life,” Jesus told them.“ No one who comes to Me will ever be hungry, and no one who believes in Me will ever be thirsty again.

Let the message about the Messiah dwell richly among you, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, and singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, with gratitude in your hearts to God.

One who isolates himself pursues selfish desires; he rebels against all sound judgment.
