當那一天、耶穌從屋子裏出來，在海邊坐着；

耶穌隨即催門徒上船，先到那邊，到伯賽大去，等他自己解散羣眾。

彼得應時對耶穌說：『請把這比喻給我們講解吧。』耶穌說：『連你們到如今還是蒙昧麼？

於是他門徒中就彼此說：『他對我們說「一會兒、你們就不得以見我；再一會兒你們就得以見我」；又說，「因為我往父那裏去」：這是甚麼意思呢？』有人就說：『他說的這「一會兒」是甚麼意思、我們不曉得他講甚麼。』耶穌知道他們想要問他，就對他們說：『我說「一會兒你們就不得以見我；再一會兒你們就得以見我」；你們是不是為了這一點來彼此探問呢？我實實在在地告訴你們，你們必哭泣哀號，而世人卻要歡喜；你們必憂愁，但你們的憂愁必變為喜樂。

耶穌回答他們說：『天國的奧祕是給你們知道，而不是給那些人的。

耶穌進了屋子，瞎子上他跟前來。耶穌對他們說：『你們信我能作這事麼？』他們對他說，『主啊，我們信。』

耶穌離開羣眾，進了屋子，他的門徒將這比喻詢問他。

耶穌隨即催門徒上船，在他以先到那邊去，等他解散羣眾。

耶穌解散了羣眾，就上船，來到馬加丹的境界。

不用比喻，就不對他們講；私下裏才對門徒解釋一切。
