几个门徒彼此议论说：“祂说，‘不久，你们就见不到我了，再过不久，你们还会看见我’，祂又说，‘因为我要去父那里’，这到底是什么意思呢？祂说‘不久’是什么意思呢？我们真不明白！”耶稣知道他们想问祂，就说：“你们在议论我刚才说的话是什么意思吗？我实实在在地告诉你们，你们将痛哭、哀号，世人却要欢喜；你们将忧愁，然而你们的忧愁将变为喜乐。

耶稣回答说：“天国的奥秘只让你们知道，不让他们知道。

耶稣进了房子，那两个瞎子来到祂面前。耶稣问他们：“你们相信我能做这事吗？”他们说：“主啊，我们相信。”

耶稣离开众人，进了屋子，门徒问祂这比喻的意思。

随后，耶稣催门徒上船，叫他们先渡到湖对岸，祂则遣散众人。

祂总是用比喻对他们讲论，只有单独和门徒在一起的时候，才把一切解释清楚。
