“‘ An enemy did this,’ he replied.“ The servants asked him,‘ Do you want us to go and pull them up?’

“‘ An enemy did this,’ he replied.“ The slaves asked him,‘ Do you want us to go and pull up the weeds?’

He said to them,‘ An enemy has done this.’ So the servants said to him,‘ Then do you want us to go and gather them?’

“‘ An enemy has done this!’ the farmer exclaimed.“‘ Should we pull out the weeds?’ they asked.

“‘ An enemy did this,’ he told them.“‘ So, do you want us to go and pull them up?’ the servants asked him.

And he said to them,‘ An enemy has done this!’ The slaves* said to him,‘ Do you want us, then, to go and gather them up?’

He said to them,‘ An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him,‘ Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’

And he said unto them, An enemy hath done this. And the servants say unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

“‘ An enemy did this!’ he told them.“‘ So, do you want us to go and gather them up?’ the slaves asked him.

He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

He said,‘ An enemy has done this.’ So the slaves replied,‘ Do you want us to go and gather them?’

“ He said to them,‘ An enemy has done this.’“ The servants asked him,‘ Do you want us to go and gather them up?’

For my part, even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. As one who is present with you in this way, I have already passed judgment in the name of our Lord Jesus on the one who has been doing this.So when you are assembled and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present,hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough?Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch— as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. (niv)

And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. (niv)

“ Master,” said John,“ we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we tried to stop him, because he is not one of us.”“ Do not stop him,” Jesus said,“ for whoever is not against you is for you.”As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.And he sent messengers on ahead, who went into a Samaritan village to get things ready for him;but the people there did not welcome him, because he was heading for Jerusalem.When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked,“ Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them?” (niv)

The punishment inflicted on him by the majority is sufficient.Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.I urge you, therefore, to reaffirm your love for him.Another reason I wrote you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything.Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven— if there was anything to forgive— I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake,in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes. (niv)

Be merciful to those who doubt;save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear— hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh. (niv)
