The field is the world, and the good seed represents the people of the Kingdom. The weeds are the people who belong to the evil one.

So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it.

Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.

I am writing to you who are mature in the faith because you know Christ, who existed from the beginning. For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

As they went out, they talked it over and agreed,“ This man hasn’t done anything to deserve death or imprisonment.”And Agrippa said to Festus,“ He could have been set free if he hadn’t appealed to Caesar.”

So a time was set, and on that day a large number of people came to Paul’s lodging. He explained and testified about the Kingdom of God and tried to persuade them about Jesus from the Scriptures. Using the law of Moses and the books of the prophets, he spoke to them from morning until evening.

We reject all shameful deeds and underhanded methods. We don’t try to trick anyone or distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know this.If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing.

Wisdom shouts in the streets. She cries out in the public square.She calls to the crowds along the main street, to those gathered in front of the city gate:“ How long, you simpletons, will you insist on being simpleminded? How long will you mockers relish your mocking? How long will you fools hate knowledge?

My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands.Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding.Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding.Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures.Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God.For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

Then he sent them out to tell everyone about the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

Heal the sick, and tell them,‘ The Kingdom of God is near you now.’

It is senseless to pay to educate a fool, since he has no heart for learning.

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.

“ And now I know that none of you to whom I have preached the Kingdom will ever see me again.

But since it is merely a question of words and names and your Jewish law, take care of it yourselves. I refuse to judge such matters.”

Just say a simple,‘ Yes, I will,’ or‘ No, I won’t.’ Anything beyond this is from the evil one.

When they heard Paul speak about the resurrection of the dead, some laughed in contempt, but others said,“ We want to hear more about this later.”

As he reasoned with them about righteousness and self control and the coming day of judgment, Felix became frightened.“ Go away for now,” he replied.“ When it is more convenient, I’ll call for you again.”He also hoped that Paul would bribe him, so he sent for him quite often and talked with him.

Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done.

Why can’t you understand what I am saying? It’s because you can’t even hear me!

Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.

But he will pour out his anger and wrath on those who live for themselves, who refuse to obey the truth and instead live lives of wickedness.

Unfriendly people care only about themselves; they lash out at common sense.Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions.

Instead, it was something about their religion and a dead man named Jesus, who Paul insists is alive.I was at a loss to know how to investigate these things, so I asked him whether he would be willing to stand trial on these charges in Jerusalem.

Though I am the least deserving of all God’s people, he graciously gave me the privilege of telling the Gentiles about the endless treasures available to them in Christ.
