我實在告訴你們，許多神言人和義人巴不得要看你們所看見的，卻沒有看到；要聽你們所聽見的，卻沒有聽到。

For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

What I’m about to tell you is true. Many prophets and godly people wanted to see what you see. But they didn’t see it. They wanted to hear what you hear. But they didn’t hear it.

For truly, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, but they didn’t see it. And they longed to hear what you hear, but they didn’t hear it.

For verily I say unto you, that many prophets and righteous men desired to see the things which ye see, and saw them not; and to hear the things which ye hear, and heard them not.

For I assure you: Many prophets and righteous people longed to see the things you see yet didn’t see them; to hear the things you hear yet didn’t hear them.

For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous[ men] have desired to see[ those things] which ye see, and have not seen[ them]; and to hear[ those things] which ye hear, and have not heard[ them].

For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

For most certainly I tell you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see the things which you see, and didn’t see them; and to hear the things which you hear, and didn’t hear them.

你們的祖亞伯拉罕極歡樂地可得見到我的日子；既已見了，就喜樂。』

這些人都是存着信心而死，沒有領受所應許的，乃是遠遠望見而致敬，承認自己在地上是旅客是寄居的。

論到這拯救、神言人們、那些豫先傳講你們所必得之恩的、已經尋求搜索了。他們竭力探索那在他們裏面的「被膏者之靈」所豫先證明被膏者必受的苦以及後來必得的榮勝所指的是甚麼時候、或甚麼情況。他們得了啓示、知道他們在這些事上所作服事的工、並不是為了自己，乃是為了你們。藉着那些靠聖靈而傳福音給你們的人、這些事如今已經傳告給你們了（聖靈是那從天上被差遣的）。天使也切願詳細窺察這些事呢。

我告訴你們，從前有許多神言人和君王想要看你們所看見的，卻沒有看過；想要聽你們所聽見的，卻沒有聽過。』

這奧祕在別的世代中沒有讓人類知道過，不像如今在靈感動中對他的聖使徒和神言傳講師啓示了這樣。這奧祕就是：外國人在基督耶穌裏、藉着福音、得以同做後嗣、同做一個身體、一同有分於應許之恩。

這些人雖然都藉着信得了讚許的證言，卻沒有領受所應許的；因為上帝已經為了我們豫先供備更美好的事，要使他們、沒有我們、就不能得完全。
